Human BEings of Yoga Nundah - Meet Genevieve
Genevieve has been practicing yoga on and off since her return from overseas 5 years ago. Sadly, she said it wasn’t always a positive experience has the classes felt very regimented and she often felt more stressed after the class than before it. Like many others, Genevieve’s main reason for practicing is to feel more grounded, mindful and relaxed. These days Gen is a loved member of the Yoga Nundah community and she prefers the slower and low pressure style of class. She also loves that there is a greater emphasis on mindfulness meditation. Straight after class, Gen says that she notices that her thoughts have slowed and her communication with others feels more connected. She also has found that in contrast to her earlier yoga experience, she doesn’t feel the need for external validation, rather, this comes from within as she is more in tune with her own experience. When not practicing yoga, Gen loves nature walks, tennis and dancing. An ex-dancer, she’s quite partial to closing the curtains of her apartment, turning the music up and literally dancing like nobody is watching (because they aren’t!).
